Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 27 July 2026

This policy protects customers, networks, and the Internet number resources administered by Shikanoko Networks. It does not expand SKNK's service or monitoring obligations.

1. Scope

This policy applies to customers, users, services, and Internet number resources administered or sponsored by Shikanoko Networks. It supplements our Terms of Service and any applicable Sponsoring LIR Agreement.

2. Lawful and Authorized Use

You must use the service and associated resources only for lawful purposes, within the authority granted to you, and in accordance with applicable RIPE NCC policies. You must not misrepresent your identity, organization, network, intended use, or authority over any resource.

3. Prohibited Activity

You must not use SKNK-administered resources for spam, phishing, malware distribution, unauthorized access, credential theft, denial-of-service attacks, botnet activity, illegal content distribution, deliberate intellectual-property infringement, sanctions evasion, or activity intended to conceal or facilitate abuse.

4. Network and Routing Integrity

You must not originate, announce, authorize, or facilitate routes for resources you are not entitled to use. Route objects, ROAs, contact records, and other resource information must be accurate. Suspected route hijacking, forged authorization, unauthorized record changes, or deceptive routing practices are prohibited.

5. Security and Contact Information

You are responsible for securing systems that use the resources, maintaining current operational and abuse contacts, and responding reasonably to verified security or abuse reports. You must promptly notify SKNK if credentials, authorization documents, resource records, or systems may have been compromised.

6. Investigation and Cooperation

SKNK may request information reasonably necessary to investigate suspected abuse or meet legal, regulatory, RIPE NCC, or upstream-provider obligations. You must cooperate in good faith. We may preserve and disclose relevant information where required or permitted by law.

7. Enforcement

Depending on severity, evidence, recurrence, and legal obligations, SKNK may request remediation, restrict resource administration, suspend service, withdraw authorization, or terminate the service. Immediate action may be taken where necessary to protect network integrity, comply with law, or address serious abuse. Enforcement does not create a guaranteed monitoring or response service.

8. Reporting Abuse

Send reports to abuse@shikanoko-networks.com. Include the relevant IP address or ASN, timestamps with time zone, logs, message headers, URLs, and other evidence where available. Do not send passwords, private keys, or complete payment-card details.
